Since 1979, Mongolia has been a member of World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and ratified most of the international and multinational treaties regarding intellectual property.
Mongolia is a signatory to Madrid Agreement Concerning the International Registration of Marks (1985), Paris Convention for the Protection of Industrial Property (1985) and Berne Convention for the Protection of Literary and Artistic Works (1998) and other international and multinational treaties.
Furthermore, Intellectual property rights are covered by Mongolian legislations such as the Patent Law (1993), Law on Trade Marks and Geographical Indications (2010), Law on Copyright and Related Rights (2006) and Law on Technology Transfer of Mongolia (1998).
