Since 1979, Mongolia has been a member of World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and ratified most of the international and multinational treaties regarding intellectual property.

Mongolia is a signatory to Madrid Agreement Concerning the International Registration of Marks (1985), Paris Convention for the Protection of Industrial Property (1985) and Berne Convention for the Protection of Literary and Artistic Works (1998) and other international and multinational treaties.

Furthermore, Intellectual property rights are covered by Mongolian legislations such as the Patent Law (1993), Law on Trade Marks and Geographical Indications (2010), Law on Copyright and Related Rights (2006) and Law on Technology Transfer of Mongolia (1998).

• Registered trademarks for: “MonGeni”, “Modern Nomads”, “Nomads Legends”, “Double Shot”, “Crocus Event Hall”, “Silk Road Bazaar”, “Transwest Mongolia”, “Uzel Bodlin Zurug”, “Coffee with Sugar”, “Cheese Republic”, “Bio Iod” and “Vansemberuu” (2016-2019);

• Submitted response on the matter regarding the refusal to register trademarks that are supposed to register in Mongolia in accordance The International Trademark System. Subsequently, registered the trademarks thereof (2016-2019);

• Valuation of copyrighted works and trademarks and authentication of such valuation (2016-2018);

• Provided legal advice and services for Keshet International, an Israeli company, regarding an intellectual property infringement in which a sitcom was produced in Mongolia by reproducing the company’s format and a Settlement Agreement was entered into with the infringer (2017-2018).
